Sandwich Groß Glienicke

Sandwich

Camouflage at the lake of Groß Glienicke

This dreamlike property is located on the outskirts of Berlin, south of the Groß Glienicker See. Between the rough bark of the tall black pines the facade of this new home is shimmering through.
From the outside, it is only at second glance that the reflections of the multiple folded glass facade reveal the building. However, from the inside there is a magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding countryside.
It is the contrasts that form the basis of this building. The seemingly light, glass building rests on a massive steel and concrete construction. Small, compact rooms with great views, ceiling-high cupboards, shelves, storage areas, and a roof terrace that extends across the entire footprint of the building and can only be accessed via a tiny “secret door” turn this gem into something very special.

“Shimmering discreetly from the outside, surprising with its expansive view from the inside, this house made of glass and concrete by Atelier ST blends into the lake landscape of the southern region of Berlin.”
